The 10th Annual Joe Verciglio Memorial Wrestling Tournament
January 4, 2025
Chantilly High School

The Fairfax County School Board has voted to approve a calendar for the 2021-22 school year that is designed to recognize, respect, and honor the plurality of religious and cultural observances in Fairfax County. The Joe Verciglio Memorial Wrestling Tournament is usually a two day tournament with 24 teams. However, this year the tournament will be one day with 16 teams.

The 10th Annual Joe Verciglio Memorial Wrestling Tournament will take
place in Northern Virginia, on 6 mats, with 16 teams, at Chantilly High School on Saturday 4, 2025.

The tournament will be a 16 Man Scramble Format. This means all wrestlers will receive 5 matches in order to give wrestlers more “live wrestling” opportunities compared to a normal double elimination tournament.

Each weight class will be split into 4 round robin pools of 4 wrestlers (16 wrestlers). Each pool will be seeded. Round robin wrestling will consist of 3 rounds. After the 3 rounds, wrestlers from each pool will be bracketed based on records (4 brackets of 4 wrestlers competing for 1st-4th, 5th-8th, 9th-12th, and 13th-16th).

Trackwrestling will be in use.
